Service 01 / Web design

One second flat.

A website has about one second to prove you are real. We build WordPress sites in Omaha that load in that window, convert the visitor, and hand the machines a clean structure on the way out. Roughly like this.

Speed is
the design

Every tenth of a second between the click and the paint is a person leaving. Here is what we build against the industry averages.

0
LARGEST CONTENTFUL PAINT

The one second rule

Half your visitors are on a phone on cellular data in a parking lot. If the page has not painted by the time they look up, they are gone and you never knew they came.

Speed is not a setting we switch on at the end. It is a budget we hold to during the build, which is why it survives contact with your content.

How it
goes

Six phases, and the last two are the ones most agencies skip. Hover any phase for what actually happens inside it.

+
PHASE 01

Discovery

Who buys from you, what they need to see, and what your competitors are doing.

  • Stakeholder interview, one hour, recorded
  • Competitor teardown across search and AI answers
  • Analytics audit on what your current site does
  • Sitemap and URL map, agreed before design
You end up withA brief nobody argues with later
+
PHASE 02

Design

Homepage first, in full. You approve a direction before we build twelve pages in the wrong one.

  • One direction, fully art directed, not three safe ones
  • Real copy in the design, never lorem ipsum
  • Mobile designed properly, not squeezed after
  • Two rounds of revision built into the schedule
You end up withA homepage you would sign
+
PHASE 03

Build

Design becomes a real site on a staging URL you can watch happen.

  • Hand-built, no page builder bloat
  • Schema and structure baked in, not bolted on
  • Speed budget enforced during build, not after
  • Accessibility pass: keyboard, contrast, screen reader
You end up withA site that loads in about a second
+
PHASE 04

Launch

Redirects mapped, analytics verified, forms tested, then we go.

  • Redirect map from Search Console, not from memory
  • Forms tested on production, not just staging
  • Search Console and analytics verified live
  • Launch on a Tuesday. Never a Friday.
You end up withZero lost rankings
+
PHASE 05

Maintain

The part where most agencies hand you a zip file and vanish. A site is not furniture.

  • Core, theme, and plugin updates staged then shipped
  • Nightly off-site backups, tested restores
  • Uptime and malware monitoring that pages us, not you
  • Speed re-checked as content grows
You end up withA site that ages well
+
PHASE 06

Evolve and grow

Launch is the start of the work. This is where the site starts earning.

  • Monthly reporting on traffic, rankings, and AI citations
  • Content added against real questions your buyers ask
  • Conversion testing on the pages that matter
  • Quarterly strategy, so the site changes as you do
You end up withCompounding returns, not a launch spike

Straight
answers

How much does a website cost?

It depends on scope: page count, whether you need copywriting, one location or many, and whether you are selling online. Whatever the answer, you get a fixed quote before we start, not an hourly surprise at the end. A ten minute call gets you a real number.

How long does it take?

Six to ten weeks from the day we have your content. Content is the thing that delays projects, not design, so we help write it.

Do you use WordPress?

Yes, and we host and maintain what we build. WordPress is boring and that is the point. You own it, any developer can work on it, and it will still be here in ten years.

Will my site be fast?

That is a requirement, not a hope. We target under 1.5 seconds for largest contentful paint on mobile. Speed is a ranking factor, a conversion factor, and increasingly a factor in whether an AI crawler bothers with you.

Do you redesign existing sites?

Often. If the bones are good we rebuild the front end and keep your history. If the bones are bad, starting over is cheaper than repair, and we will tell you which one you have.

What happens after launch?

That is phases five and six, and it is where most agencies disappear. Maintain means updates, backups, monitoring, and speed as your content grows. Evolve means monthly reporting, new content against real buyer questions, and conversion work. A site is not furniture. Launch is the start of the work.

Will I be able to edit it myself?

Yes. We build on WordPress specifically so you are not hostage to us or to a proprietary platform. You get training, and the editor is locked to your brand colors and type so a rushed Tuesday cannot make the site ugly. You can change words. You cannot accidentally change the design.

Do you do e-commerce?

Yes, on WooCommerce for most cases. Be warned that e-commerce is a different animal: tax, shipping, inventory, fulfilment, and returns are business problems that a website makes visible rather than solves. We will ask about those before we quote.

What about hosting?

Included if you want a care plan, and we would rather host what we build. Managed WordPress infrastructure, nightly backups, staging, SSL, and monitoring. If you would rather stay where you are, that is fine, but we will be honest about whether your host is the reason your site is slow.

Can you make my site faster without a rebuild?

Sometimes, and it is worth trying first. Image handling, caching, and killing dead plugins can take seconds off. If the theme itself loads two megabytes of JavaScript before it paints, no amount of tuning saves it. We will tell you which situation you are in for free.

Do you write the content?

We help, and this is the part that delays every project. Content is the bottleneck, never design. We will interview you and write it, or edit what you have, or work to your writer. What we will not do is launch with lorem ipsum and hope.

Is my site accessible?

It will be. Keyboard navigation, color contrast, screen reader labels, focus states, and reduced motion support are part of the build, not an add-on. Beyond the ethics and the legal exposure, the same structure that helps a screen reader helps a search crawler and an AI model.

How do we know we will get it right?

You see a full homepage before we build a single other page, and two rounds of revision are already in the schedule. If the direction is not right we go again, happily: the reason we show the homepage first is that changing direction then costs a week instead of a project.
