How do you compare to website builders like Squarespace and Shopify?

Builders get you started fast and hit a ceiling on speed, search, AI visibility, and ownership. We build past that ceiling with a custom site you own. The pages here lay out the differences platform by platform.

Open this answer →
Do you help me move off my current platform?

Yes, and we plan the migration first. We map your URLs and set redirects from Search Console so your rankings move with you, and we bring your content and products across rather than leaving them behind.

Open this answer →
Is Squarespace good for SEO?

It handles the basics and hits a ceiling fast. You get limited control over titles, meta, schema, and speed, and almost nothing for AI visibility. A custom build gives you all of it, which is why businesses that outgrow Squarespace usually come to us for search, not just looks.

Open this answer →
Can I move off Squarespace without losing my rankings?

Yes, and it is the first thing we plan. We map every URL to its new home and set redirects from your Search Console data, so the equity you built comes with you instead of dropping. Done right, a migration is a ranking gain, not a risk.

Open this answer →
Squarespace or a custom WordPress site, which is right for me?

If you need a simple brochure for a year, Squarespace is quick. If the site has to load in a second, rank, get named by AI, and shape around how you actually sell, that is a custom build, and that is what we do.

Open this answer →
Is a custom site more expensive than Squarespace?

Up front, yes. Over time it is often less, because you are not paying a monthly ceiling forever and you own the result. We quote a fixed price before we start, so there is no surprise at the end.

Open this answer →
How long does it take to rebuild a Squarespace site?

Most rebuilds run a few weeks, depending on page count and content. We give you the schedule up front and you watch it happen on a staging URL.

Open this answer →
Is Wix good for SEO?

It covers the basics and hits a wall. You get limited control over speed, structure, and schema, and little for AI visibility. A custom build gives you all of it, which is why businesses serious about search usually move off DIY.

Open this answer →
Is Wix good enough for a real business?

For a first site you maintain yourself, it can be. The trouble is DIY tops out at good enough, and against a competitor with a fast, custom, properly optimized site, good enough loses. That is the gap we close.

Open this answer →
Why is my Wix site slow?

Drag-and-drop convenience comes as extra code, and it stacks up, especially on a phone. A hand-built site carries only what it needs, which is how we hold it to about a second.

Open this answer →
Can I move off Wix without losing my rankings?

Yes, and we plan it first. We map your URLs and set redirects from Search Console so the rankings you built come across instead of dropping. Done right, the move is a gain, not a risk.

Wix or a custom WordPress site, which is right for me?

If you want to build and maintain a simple site yourself, Wix is quick. If you want it fast, found, and off your plate, that is a custom build on WordPress, and that is what we do.

Open this answer →
Is GoDaddy Airo good for SEO?

It sets the basics and stops there. Airo gives you generated pages and basic SEO settings, which is a starting point, not the schema and answer engine work that gets you ranked and named by AI. That deeper work is a craft, and it is what we do.

Open this answer →
Are AI website builders any good?

For getting something online this week, yes, they are fast and cheap. The catch is they generate a generic starting point from a prompt, without strategy or a person who knows your business. Fine for a placeholder, thin for a business that needs to compete.

Open this answer →
Why does my AI-generated site look like everyone else's?

Because it is generated the same way from similar inputs. A model given a business type and a few answers produces a similar site for everyone who answers similarly. A custom build starts from your business, not a prompt, so it is actually yours.

Open this answer →
Will an AI builder get me found by ChatGPT?

Not on its own. Being built by an AI and being found by an AI are different things. Getting named by ChatGPT or Perplexity is answer engine optimization: structured data, consistent information, and content written to be quoted. We do that deliberately.

Open this answer →
Can I move my site off GoDaddy?

Yes. We rebuild it properly, carry over what is worth keeping, and set redirects so any rankings come with you. You end up with a site you own and a strategy under it.

Open this answer →
Should I hire a full-service agency or a specialist?

If you need many channels run at volume every month and have the budget to staff it, a full-service agency has the seats. If you want the work done deeply by someone who knows your business, a focused studio wins. That is the trade, and it is the one we are built for.

Open this answer →
Is a full-service marketing agency worth it?

Sometimes, at scale. The catch is that doing everything means the work spreads thin, and you often pay for a bundled retainer you cannot see inside. If you want depth and a fixed price you can actually read, that is us.

Open this answer →
Who actually does the work at a marketing agency?

At many full-service shops the person who sells you is not the person who builds it, and the build is often passed to freelancers or subcontractors you never meet. With us, the person who scopes your project does it, in-house. You always know whose hands your work is in.

Open this answer →
Why is my agency retainer so expensive?

Bundled retainers cover a lot of overhead and a lot of accounts, and they are hard to see inside. We quote a fixed price for defined work before we start, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Open this answer →
Can a small studio outperform a big agency?

On the things that matter to a local or regional business, often yes. Depth beats breadth, a specialist beats a generalist on their channel, and a person who knows your business beats a queue. We are not better at everything. We are better at that.

Open this answer →
Is Shopify bad for SEO?

Not bad, just boxed in. URL structure, schema, and speed are partly out of your hands, and app scripts pile on weight. A custom store gives you full control of the things search and AI actually reward.

Open this answer →
Does Shopify really charge extra fees?

Beyond the monthly plan, you pay platform fees on sales unless you use their payments, and most stores stack paid apps to fill the gaps. It adds up. A store you own has hosting and payment processing, and not the per-sale platform tax.

Open this answer →
Shopify or WooCommerce, which should I use?

Shopify is quick for a big catalog you want hosted and handled. A custom WooCommerce store is right when you want to own the shop, keep it fast, and have the site and the store be one thing. That is how we build.

Open this answer →
Can you move my store off Shopify?

Yes. We migrate products, customers, and content, and we map redirects so your search rankings come across. You keep what you built and lose the monthly ceiling.

Open this answer →
Will a custom store be as reliable as Shopify?

On managed hosting with monitoring and backups, yes. You get the reliability without renting the platform, and a real person to call when you need one.

What does a website cost in Omaha?

It depends on scope, and any Omaha agency quoting you a number before understanding your business is guessing. What drives the cost: how many pages, whether you need copywriting, whether it is one location or twelve, and whether you are selling online. We quote every project as a fixed price before we start, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. Tell us what you need and you will have a real figure, not a range.

Open this answer →
What is answer engine optimization?

Answer engine optimization, also called AEO or GEO, is the work of getting an AI assistant to name your business when someone asks it a question. It relies on structured data, consistent business information across the web, and content written so a model can quote it. It is not the same as ranking on page one of Google.

Open this answer →
How long does a website take?

Six to ten weeks for a standard build, measured from the day we have your content. Design is two to three weeks of that. Rush timelines are possible and cost more.

Open this answer →
Can I see who you have worked with?

On a call, yes, in full: we will screen share the actual work, the actual dashboards and the actual numbers. What we do not do is publish a client list, because a client's search position is an asset they paid us to build and a public list hands their competitor the map. The same protection covers you the day you hire us, which is rather the point.

Open this answer →
Do you work with businesses outside Omaha?

Yes, and further out than most people expect: we have clients from New York to Florida to California to Hawaii, and we have never met most of them in person. Being in Omaha is not a limit on who we work with, it is a limit on who we can buy coffee for. What it buys you is a central time zone and somebody who answers the phone. Local presence work does not require us to be local, it requires us to be accurate.

Open this answer →
Do you build on WordPress?

Yes, and we host and maintain what we build. Managed updates, backups, uptime monitoring, and monthly reporting all come from us. We are not a shop that hands you a zip file and disappears.

Open this answer →
Is Creative Factory a real agency or one person?

A small studio in Omaha, running since 2010, with a bench of specialists brought in for photography, video, and development overflow. The person who scopes your project is the person who does it. That is the trade: you will never be handed to a junior, and we will never pitch you a campaign we cannot staff.

Open this answer →
How do I know if my website is actually bad?

Three checks you can run yourself in ten minutes. Open it on your phone on cellular and count the seconds until you can read something. Ask a stranger what your company does after five seconds on the homepage. Search your own service plus your city and see where you land. If any of those hurt, the site is costing you money right now.

Open this answer →
Should I rebuild or repair my site?

If the design is dated but the structure is sound, a front-end rebuild keeps your history and costs less. If it is a page builder held together with fourteen plugins and it takes six seconds to load, repair is throwing good money after bad. Send us the URL and we will tell you which one you have, and we will say repair when it is repair.

Open this answer →
What makes you different from the big agencies here?

Scale, honestly. They have account managers, we do not. If you need three hundred hours a month of paid media management, hire them. If you need a brand, a site, and someone who knows your business by name and picks up the phone, that is us. We are not better at everything. We are better at that.

Open this answer →
How do you measure whether it worked?

Traffic is a vanity number. We report on qualified inquiries, rankings on terms that actually convert, page speed, and whether AI assistants name you. If a metric cannot be tied to a phone ringing, we will not put it in a report to look busy.

Open this answer →
Do you take on white-label work for other agencies?

Yes, and we have partnerships that have run for years. We work behind your brand, we do not contact your client, and we do not put the work in a portfolio. Given that we do not publish client names at all, that arrangement is not a special favour, it is just Tuesday.

Open this answer →
What if I already have a designer?

Then keep them. We are happy to do the part they do not: the technical build, the schema, the AI visibility work. Plenty of good designers do not want to touch a server, and plenty of good developers cannot art direct. Nobody has to lose their job for us to be useful.

Open this answer →
How do I start?

Send an email or fill in the form. You get a reply from Nate within one business day, and a call to talk it through. No sequence, no discovery deck, no salesperson. You deal with the person who does the work, from the first message on.

Web design

How much does a website cost?

It depends on scope: page count, whether you need copywriting, one location or many, and whether you are selling online. Whatever the answer, you get a fixed quote before we start, not an hourly surprise at the end. A ten minute call gets you a real number.

Open this answer →
How long does it take?

Six to ten weeks from the day we have your content. Content is the thing that delays projects, not design, so we help write it.

Open this answer →
Do you use WordPress?

Yes, and we host and maintain what we build. WordPress is boring and that is the point. You own it, any developer can work on it, and it will still be here in ten years.

Open this answer →
Will my site be fast?

That is a requirement, not a hope. We target under 1.5 seconds for largest contentful paint on mobile. Speed is a ranking factor, a conversion factor, and increasingly a factor in whether an AI crawler bothers with you.

Open this answer →
Do you redesign existing sites?

Often. If the bones are good we rebuild the front end and keep your history. If the bones are bad, starting over is cheaper than repair, and we will tell you which one you have.

Open this answer →
What happens after launch?

That is phases five and six, and it is where most agencies disappear. Maintain means updates, backups, monitoring, and speed as your content grows. Evolve means monthly reporting, new content against real buyer questions, and conversion work. A site is not furniture. Launch is the start of the work.

Open this answer →
Will I be able to edit it myself?

Yes. We build on WordPress specifically so you are not hostage to us or to a proprietary platform. You get training, and the editor is locked to your brand colors and type so a rushed Tuesday cannot make the site ugly. You can change words. You cannot accidentally change the design.

Open this answer →
Do you do e-commerce?

Yes, on WooCommerce for most cases. Be warned that e-commerce is a different animal: tax, shipping, inventory, fulfilment, and returns are business problems that a website makes visible rather than solves. We will ask about those before we quote.

Open this answer →
What about hosting?

Included if you want a care plan, and we would rather host what we build. Managed WordPress infrastructure, nightly backups, staging, SSL, and monitoring. If you would rather stay where you are, that is fine, but we will be honest about whether your host is the reason your site is slow.

Open this answer →
Can you make my site faster without a rebuild?

Sometimes, and it is worth trying first. Image handling, caching, and killing dead plugins can take seconds off. If the theme itself loads two megabytes of JavaScript before it paints, no amount of tuning saves it. We will tell you which situation you are in for free.

Open this answer →
Do you write the content?

We help, and this is the part that delays every project. Content is the bottleneck, never design. We will interview you and write it, or edit what you have, or work to your writer. What we will not do is launch with lorem ipsum and hope.

Open this answer →
Is my site accessible?

It will be. Keyboard navigation, color contrast, screen reader labels, focus states, and reduced motion support are part of the build, not an add-on. Beyond the ethics and the legal exposure, the same structure that helps a screen reader helps a search crawler and an AI model.

Open this answer →
How do we know we will get it right?

You see a full homepage before we build a single other page, and two rounds of revision are already in the schedule. If the direction is not right we go again, happily: the reason we show the homepage first is that changing direction then costs a week instead of a project.

Open this answer →

Branding

How much does a logo cost?

A logo on its own is the cheapest thing we make, and it is rarely what a business actually needs. A full identity, meaning logo, type, color, applications, and a guidelines document, costs more and lasts fifteen years. The price moves with how many places the brand has to live. We will scope it honestly on a call.

Open this answer →
What do I actually receive?

Vector files in every format you will ever be asked for, a color system in print and screen values, typefaces with licensing sorted, and a guidelines PDF that tells the next person how to use it without asking you.

Open this answer →
How many concepts do I see?

Three directions, each one a real answer rather than two throwaways next to a favorite. Then two rounds of refinement on the one you pick.

Open this answer →
Can you rebrand without losing recognition?

Yes, and often that is the correct move. If people already know your mark, we evolve it rather than detonate it. We will tell you which situation you are in before you pay for the wrong one.

Open this answer →
Do you do print and signage too?

Yes. Packaging, vehicle graphics, signage, apparel, trade show, and print. A brand that only exists on a screen is half a brand.

Open this answer →
How do I know if I need a rebrand?

Real reasons: your business changed and the brand is describing a company you no longer are, you have outgrown the market you launched into, or you cannot compete because you look like a hobby. Bad reason: you personally got bored of it. You see your logo a thousand times more than your customer does.

Open this answer →
How long does a brand take?

Six to ten weeks for a full identity. Interrogation and three directions take the first month, refinement the second. Rushing this is how you get a mark you replace in two years, which is more expensive than doing it once.

Open this answer →
Who owns the trademark?

You do, and we will design with searchability in mind, but we are not a law firm and we do not file for you. Before you commit to a name, pay an attorney for a clearance search. It is cheap next to rebranding after a cease and desist.

Open this answer →
Can you refresh instead of replace?

Often that is the right answer. If people already recognize your mark, that recognition is an asset you paid for over years and detonating it is destroying value. We evolve it and keep the equity. We will tell you which situation you are in before you pay for the wrong one.

Open this answer →
Who makes the final call on the design?

One person on your side, chosen before we start. We will gather everyone's input and we want it, because the people who talk to your customers know things we do not. Then one person decides, which is how you end up with work that is memorable rather than work that survived a committee.

Open this answer →
Do you name companies too?

Yes, and it is harder than it looks, because the good name is usually taken as a domain. We approach naming with the trademark and the URL in view from the start rather than falling in love with something unavailable.

Open this answer →
What if I already have a logo I like?

Then we keep it and build the system around it. Plenty of businesses have a decent mark and nothing else: no type rules, no color system, no guidelines, so every piece looks like it came from a different company. That gap is usually the actual problem.

Open this answer →
Does brand actually affect search?

More than it used to, and this is the part almost nobody connects. AI assistants resolve businesses as entities, and a consistent brand across your site, your listings, and every third-party mention is what makes you a confident answer instead of a maybe. Brand consistency is now technically load-bearing.

Open this answer →

Graphic design

What counts as graphic design?

Everything that carries your brand and is not the website. Sales decks, one-sheets, ads, social templates, trade show graphics, vehicle wraps, menus, packaging, and signage. It is the daily output that makes a company look like a company.

Open this answer →
Can I just use Canva?

For a quick internal deck, yes, and we will tell you so rather than invoice you. Where it falls down is consistency at scale: fifteen people each making their own version of your brand, none of them quite matching, all of them public. We build the templates so Canva stops being a liability.

Open this answer →
Will AI replace this work?

It does the easy half beautifully, and we let it. A model can generate a hundred passable layouts in a minute, which is exactly why the valuable part moved: knowing that your competitor already owns that shade of blue in your market, or that your buyer is sixty and reads it printed in bad light. Judgement is the job, and judgement is what you are hiring.

Open this answer →
Do you work from our existing brand?

Yes, and we would rather. If you have guidelines we follow them. If you have a logo and no rules, we can build the rules as we go, which is usually cheaper than a full rebrand and gets you most of the benefit.

Open this answer →
How fast can you turn something around?

Ad-hoc pieces are usually two to five business days. Rush is possible and costs more. Clients on a retainer skip the queue, which is most of why they are on a retainer.

Open this answer →
Do you do illustration and icons?

Yes. Custom icon sets, spot illustration, infographics, and diagrams. This is where a brand stops looking like everyone else who bought the same stock library.

Open this answer →
Can you take over from our last designer?

Usually. Bring us the source files and we will tell you honestly what is salvageable. If they only ever gave you flattened JPGs, we will rebuild the artwork properly and you will own it this time.

Open this answer →
Do we own the files?

Yes. Every project ends with you holding editable source files and full rights. A designer who holds your artwork hostage is not a designer.

Open this answer →

Apparel design

What makes apparel design different?

The test is whether someone would wear it if you were not watching. Most company apparel fails that test, which is why it lives in the back of a drawer. Designing for apparel means designing something people want, that happens to have your name on it, rather than an ad you ask them to wear.

Open this answer →
Screen print, embroidery, or DTG?

Screen printing for volume and for the best hand feel, and it gets cheaper the more you order. Embroidery for polos, hats, and anything that should read as premium. Direct-to-garment for short runs and complex full-color art. We will tell you which one your art and your quantity actually call for.

Open this answer →
Do you handle production too?

We design it and manage the printer, including garment selection, which matters more than people expect. The same design on a cheap heavy tee and on a good soft one are two different products, and only one of them gets worn twice.

Open this answer →
How many colors can I use?

On screen print every color is a separate screen and a separate cost, so a four color design costs more than a two color one at every quantity. Good apparel design usually gets stronger with fewer colors anyway. Embroidery counts thread colors and stitch density instead.

Open this answer →
What is the minimum order?

It depends on the method. Screen printing has real setup cost so small runs are inefficient. Direct-to-garment can do a dozen sensibly. We will steer you to whichever makes sense rather than whichever is easiest for us.

Open this answer →
Can you use our existing logo?

Yes, though a logo built for a website often needs reworking for fabric. Thin lines vanish, gradients do not screen print cleanly, and small text fills in. We adapt the artwork so it survives the process.

Open this answer →
How long does apparel take?

Two to four weeks from approved artwork, longer in the fourth quarter when every shop in the country is doing holiday orders. Order your event shirts before the month of the event.

Open this answer →
Do you do uniforms and workwear?

Yes. Uniforms are a different problem from merch: durability, wash cycles, name placement, and the fact that someone has to wear it for eight hours. We design for that rather than for a mockup.

Open this answer →

Digital marketing

What does digital marketing actually mean here?

The work that brings people to the site and turns them into calls: local SEO, Google Business Profile, review strategy, paid search when it earns its keep, email, and the reporting that tells you which of those is working. Not posting on social media five times a week and calling it a strategy.

Open this answer →
Do you do social media management?

Not as a retainer, and we will tell you why rather than sell you one. For most local service businesses, daily posting is the lowest-return marketing there is: your buyer is not scrolling for a plumber, they are searching for one at the moment their basement floods. We would rather put that money into being found at that moment, and we will show you the numbers that back it up.

Open this answer →
Is paid search worth it?

It depends on one number: what a customer is worth to you over their lifetime. If you sell roofs, a click is cheap against a signed job. If you sell haircuts, the arithmetic almost never works. We do that sum with you before either of us commits, and we are glad to tell you when the answer is no.

Open this answer →
How is this different from SEO?

SEO is one part of it. Digital marketing is the whole path from a stranger having a problem to your phone ringing: getting found, being believed, and making it easy to contact you. A site that ranks first and converts nobody is an expensive way to lose slowly.

Open this answer →
What about reviews?

The highest-leverage thing most local businesses ignore. Volume matters, recency matters more than people think, and what the reviews actually say matters most of all now that models summarize them. Twenty reviews describing what you are good at beat a hundred saying 'great service'.

Open this answer →
Do you manage Google Business Profile?

Yes, and for a local business it is often worth more than the website. Categories, services, photos, posts, Q&A, and the review responses. It is also the single biggest input into whether an AI assistant can describe you accurately.

Open this answer →
How do you report on it?

Monthly, in English, on the things that connect to money: qualified inquiries, calls, rankings on terms that convert, and whether the assistants name you. Not impressions. Not reach. Not a graph that goes up while the phone stays quiet.

Open this answer →
How long before it works?

Local SEO and profile work usually move inside 60 to 90 days. Content and citation work compounds, so month nine looks very different from month three. Paid search works the day you switch it on and stops the day you switch it off, which is the whole difference between renting and owning.

Open this answer →
Do I have to sign a contract?

No. Month to month. An agency that needs a twelve month contract to keep you is telling you what happens in month four.

Open this answer →
Can you work with our existing marketing person?

Happily. Plenty of businesses have someone good in-house who does not want to touch schema or a server. We will do the parts they do not, and we will not try to replace them.

Open this answer →

Services

Do I have to buy all of it?

No, and most people should not. Plenty of clients only need a website. Plenty only need the AI visibility work on a site somebody else built. We would rather do one thing you need than five you do not.

Open this answer →
Can you do everything for one price?

We quote on scope, per project, fixed before we start. There is no bundle, because a bundle is a way of charging you for the parts you did not want.

Open this answer →
Which service should I start with?

Whatever is costing you money right now. If your site is eight years old and slow, start there. If the site is fine but nobody can find you, start with visibility. Tell us the symptom and we will tell you the order, and it is a free conversation.

Open this answer →
Do you work with other agencies?

Yes, and we have partnerships that have run for years. We work behind your brand, we do not contact your client, and the work never appears in a portfolio. Given that we do not publish client names at all, that is not a special arrangement, it is just Tuesday.

Open this answer →

AI visibility

What is AEO, and is it different from SEO?

Answer engine optimization is the work of getting an AI assistant to name your business in its answer. Traditional SEO tries to rank a page in a list of links. AEO tries to get your business into a sentence. They share plumbing, such as schema and site health, but the target is different: SEO optimizes a page, AEO optimizes an entity.

Open this answer →
Which assistants does this cover?

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot, and Gemini. We track each one separately because they pull from different sources and change independently.

Open this answer →
How do you prove it worked?

We run a fixed set of buying questions your customers would actually ask, against each assistant, on a schedule. You get a monthly report showing whether you were named, in what position, and which source was cited. It is a measurement, not a vibe.

Open this answer →
How long until it works?

First movement usually shows in 30 to 60 days. Entity and citation work compounds, so month six looks very different from month two. Anyone promising results in two weeks is selling something else.

Open this answer →
What does it cost?

It is a monthly retainer, and it scales with how many locations you have and how competitive your market is. A single-location service business costs a fraction of what a twelve-location franchise does. The quick audit is free, and it is the form on this page. That will tell you whether you have a problem worth paying to fix.

Open this answer →
Can I do some of this myself?

Yes, and we will tell you how: fix your Google Business Profile, make your name, address and phone identical everywhere they appear, and add real schema. That is a genuine start and it costs nothing but an afternoon. Where we earn our keep is the compounding part, keeping your entity consistent across dozens of sources and tracking what the assistants say month after month.

Open this answer →
Why does AEO matter for a local business?

Because the person who used to type 'plumber near me' and scan ten links now asks an assistant and gets two names. There is no page two. If the model does not know you exist, you are not in the consideration set at all, and you will never see the traffic you did not get.

Open this answer →
Which matters more, SEO or AEO?

Both, and they share plumbing. Good schema, a fast site, and consistent business data serve both. The difference is the target: SEO optimises a page to rank, AEO optimises an entity to be named. Doing only classic SEO in 2026 is defending a hill people have started walking around.

Open this answer →
How do assistants decide who to name?

They lean on structured data, on business information that agrees with itself across many sources, on third-party mentions they consider credible, and on content written so it can be quoted. They are not charmed by your homepage copy. Consistency and structure beat persuasion.

Open this answer →
What is the difference between AEO and GEO?

Mostly vocabulary. Answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization describe the same work: being named in a generated answer. Some people use GEO for the generative side and AEO more broadly. Anyone selling them as two different products is selling you one thing twice.

Open this answer →
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will name me?

Nobody can promise what a model will say, and we would be careful of anyone who does. What we control is everything that feeds the answer: a consistent entity, correct schema, citations that exist, and content written so it can be quoted. Then we measure it every month across five assistants, so you can watch it move rather than take our word for it.

Open this answer →
What is the fastest fix?

Your Google Business Profile, then making your name, address, and phone identical everywhere they appear. Most local businesses have three slightly different versions of themselves on the internet and wonder why they are a coin flip. That work is unglamorous and it moves the needle before anything clever does.

Open this answer →
Do reviews affect AI answers?

Yes, both the volume and the recency, and increasingly what the reviews actually say. A model summarising why people like a business is reading the text, not just the star average. Twenty reviews that describe what you are good at outperform a hundred that say 'great service'.

Open this answer →
How is this different from traditional SEO?

Traditional SEO optimises a page so it ranks in a list of links. This optimises your business as an entity so a model will name it in a sentence. They share plumbing, so good SEO work makes this easier, and a good SEO already has you halfway there. The part that is new is the measuring: knowing every month whether the assistants actually name you.

Yes. Month to month, no contract, and you own everything. If you leave, we hand over the site and the DNS and wish you well. Lock-in is a tell that the work is not good enough to hold you.

Do you host the site too?

Yes, hosting is included in every plan. Managed WordPress infrastructure with nightly backups, staging, and SSL.

What counts as a content edit?

Text changes, image swaps, new pages, new staff, new hours, new products. Small edits are included on Standard and above. Bigger work gets quoted before we touch it.

What am I actually paying for?

Not the server: servers are cheap and always have been. You are paying for the updates being staged and checked, the backups being tested rather than assumed, somebody watching at 2am, and a phone number that reaches the person who built it. The plan buys you not thinking about any of it.

Why do WordPress sites get hacked?

Almost never through WordPress itself. It is out of date plugins, weak passwords, and abandoned themes. The fix is boring and constant, which is exactly why people do not do it themselves and why sites break at the worst possible moment.

What happens if I do nothing?

For a while, nothing, which is the trap. Then a plugin update you skipped becomes a security hole, or a PHP version gets deprecated and your host forces the upgrade and something breaks. Maintenance is cheap. Recovery is not.

Can you take over a site somebody else built?

Often, yes, and we are happy to. We audit it first so we both know what we are taking on. If the bones are good we will look after it from day one, and if they are not we will show you exactly what we found and what it would take to put right.

How fast do you respond?

Same business day for anything broken, and if the site is down we usually know before you do because monitoring pages us. Content edits go in a queue and get done within a couple of days.

Can I keep my current host?

Yes, though it limits what we can promise. If your host is the reason the site is slow, we can tune around it only so far. We will tell you plainly rather than take a retainer to fight your infrastructure every month.

What does the monthly report actually say?

Traffic and where it came from, page speed, what ranks and what moved, and on the top plan whether AI assistants named you and who they named instead. Written in English. If a number does not connect to your phone ringing, it does not go in.

Do you monitor after hours?

Uptime monitoring runs every minute, all the time, and it pages us rather than emailing you. Most problems are fixed before a customer notices. We are not a 24/7 NOC and we will not pretend to be one.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep everything. The site, the domain, the DNS, all of it. We hand over cleanly and wish you well. Any agency that makes leaving painful is telling you the work is not good enough to hold you, and you should hear that.

The studio

Who will I actually work with?

Nate, the owner. Not a salesperson who hands you to a junior after the contract signs. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it.

How big is Creative Factory?

Small on purpose, with a bench of specialists we bring in for photography, video, and development overflow. Small means your project cannot get lost, and it means we say no to work we are wrong for.

Why should I pick you over a big agency?

You should not, if you need three hundred hours a month of paid media management. If you need a brand, a site, and someone who actually knows your business by name, a fifteen-year-old studio beats an account manager who started in March.

Where are you located?

Omaha, Nebraska. Most of the work is in the metro and the rest is scattered from New York to Hawaii. Local presence work requires accuracy, not proximity: we have never stood in most of these offices and it has never once mattered.

Do you require a contract?

For projects, yes: a fixed scope and a fixed price, so we both know what we agreed to. For care plans and retainers, no. Month to month, cancel any time, keep everything.

Open this answer →
What industries do you work in?

Mostly local and regional service businesses, franchises, professional services, and retail. We are not specialists in one vertical, which cuts both ways: we will not arrive knowing your jargon, and we will not give you the same site we gave your competitor.

How long have you been doing AEO?

Since well before it had a name that clients recognized. We were doing entity and schema work while it still sounded made up, which is most of why we can now track citations across five assistants for clients as a normal part of the month.

What does AI say about you right now?

We will run your real buying questions through ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot, and Gemini, and send you exactly who they name. Often it is your competitor. Sometimes it is nobody.
